The Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Western Australia (YEA WA) is a new initiative based on the vision of developing the capacity of young people to thrive and flourish in a rapidly changing world through promoting and developing entrepreneurial skillsets, mindsets, and ambitions. Read more >
This collaborative WA-first Academy, brings together key stakeholders in the entrepreneurial landscape to build a stronger culture of innovation in schools across Western Australia and build a more diverse economy within the state. The YEA WA consortium includes Curtin University, the Malka Foundation, Spacecubed, St Catherine’s College, All Saints’ College’s Djoowak: the Beyond Boundaries Institute and the Department of Education.
Rigorous research demonstrating the need for entrepreneurial education in WA is the basis on which YEA WA has been established. The declaration of the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration document signed by all state and federal ministers for education in 2019 outlining aspirational education goals for all young Australians underpins our vision.
To develop confident and creative individuals who have developed, alongside their academic skills and knowledge, a set of capabilities that see them able to recognise, adapt to and manage change in a VUCA world (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) and to show initiative, to use their creative abilities and to be enterprising.

In the leadup to the formation of YEAWA, the Malka Foundation and the Fogarty Foundation commissioned a research paper from the Curtin University Entrepreneurship team.
